Does the United States use more oil than the rest of the world combined?

Does the United States use more oil than the rest of the world combined? If yes, how much more?Does the United States use more oil than the rest of the world combined?
I don't know if the US uses more than the rest of the world -combined-, but we certainly use a LOT of oil.

You should just google this, man.Does the United States use more oil than the rest of the world combined?
No. China recently took over the unflattering lead for greatest oilconsumption. But the americans use far more oil per person than any other nation suggesting they waste alot more.
No, China does, but we use the most per person I believe.
The United States uses about 27% of the worlds energy and produces about 25% of the goods made in the world. This puts us pretty much in balance in the energy/production part of the equation. Best yet we produce all these goods with only about 5% of the world's population. We are extremely efficient in this regard and much more productive than any other country.

To take these numbers and say that we only have 5% of the population and yet use one-fourth of the energy is a deceitful statement put forth by America haters implying that we are wasteful and slovenly.
Way to go Flyboy! It's about time someone used a little common sense instead of just looking at one small part of the equasion.
No. The US uses about one fourth of the world's total oil consumption.
I think we use about 25% but we only have %26lt; 5% of the world population.

Fly boy

I believe that your argument is a circler one. We may produces about 25% of the goods made in the world. We consume more than 25% of the goods made in the world, after all the cars and electronics that are imports.

It still comes down to %26lt; 5% of the world population using %26gt;25% of the world oil, to produces about 25% of the goods made in the world, that we consume OURSEVES.

When was the last time we had a trade surplus?
